Dear Snackers is a startup Canadian company that gives the world Makhana (foxnut) snacks which are sustainable, delicious, and nutritious. Dear Snackers works directly with female farmers to eliminate the middle man, and to pay them an equitable living wage. My role as the Marketing Development Manager was the following:
• Develop & execute marketing campaigns • Distribute and manage budgets to be allocated across all marketing activities • Create and maintain content & campaign calendars • Social media strategy and implementation across various social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest • Content creation – including the creation of blogs, web pages, and landing pages • SEO analysis, strategy development, and SEO research • PPC campaign development, testing, and management of ad spend
One of my personal goals with Dear Snackers was to share the “story behind the crunch.”
The Founder took great care to ensure that her suppliers were fair trade and harvested their Makhana using traditional techniques to ensure their efficacy.
This Instagram video ad looks to take 30 seconds out of someone’s day to share that story, and to educate them on what Makhana is.
Upon publishing this ad, we saw:
• 5% Click-Through Rate • 15% Increase to website traffic • 10% Growth of Instagram followers
I also installed tracking cookies on our landing pages to measure which of our landing pages was keeping users on our website.
As the Marketing Development Manager with Dear Snackers, I was also responsible for creating content that included blogs and their corresponding images.
The goal with our content is to always try to educate our viewers in a fun way by including casual copy and images that help users to visualize what Makhana (water lily seeds).
With this goal in mind, what we would try to do is measure the time spent on our pages and we would also monitor behavioral patterns as well to see if users are viewing more than one page.
